I couldn’t do it. I tried. For a whole week I tried to fit back in to my life, but I simply couldn’t. Even though my time in the wilds had been hard, pushing me to my limits, it was far better than here.

My dark thoughts resurfaced with a vengeance. I managed to keep them under control, but only barely. It seemed so much easier out in the wilds; so much easier to concentrate; so much easier not having to think about how others thought of you; just easier.

I heard tell of an adventurer’s guild in Nuveria (sp?) looking for people to travel to a far off continent. The lands are said to be dangerous, which doesn’t bother me as much as it seems to bother the other villagers considering taking them up on the offer. They all wanted the money, for sure, but most weren’t willing to expose themselves to such risk.

As I heard of them talk of that wild land, I realized that this could be an excellent opportunity. The wilds here had been good to my well being (in the grand scheme of things). Perhaps an even more remote area would be better. And besides, I promised that owl spirit I would take care of nature. What better way to do that than to be around to stop any clear-cutting or other destructive practices that the guild might get themselves up to.

Yes. It is decided. I’ll be leaving in an hour or two at dawn.
