About the Designer
My name is Gregory McWhirter. I am currently a graduate student in the Ph. D. Program of the University of California, Irvine Department of Logic and Philosophy of Science. I am a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh where I studied mathematics and philosophy primarily, with a minor in economics.
This website has grown out of my hobby of web development. I have designed and worked on various other websites over the years, including a significant project for computing department at Pitt, which they have graciously agreed to let me open-source (should I ever get around to re-writing the base of it).
Lately it has become mostly a personal blog and link repository, though I do link to my GitHub page if anyone is interested in looking up my projects.

About the Site
This site primarily serves as my personal blog. Secondarily, it provides descriptions of and links to projects and services maintained and/or used by me. Additionally, it provides a place storing some documents and other things.

About the Namesake
Kvasir is the Norse god of inspiration, and the wisest of all the gods having been created from the saliva of the rest. Sadly, he was quickly killed by the two dwarves Fjalar and Galar and turned into the Mead of Poetry.
For a more complete story, the wikipedia article seems to have a rather decent explanation.
